Our Projects

Human Care is a charitable organisation that assists students from poor and needy families in Fiji to reach their full academic potential

Human Care Zakaat Committee looks after Zakaat recipients from Fiji, who are registered zakaat recipients under the Fiji Muslim League Branches or Macuata Muslim League Branches. Initially we started with 16 Zakat Recipients in 2018 and now the number has increased to 100 families as per our last payment of the second quarter for this year. The Zakaat Recipients receive $150 cash every month and an extra $100 during the month of Ramadan and Eid ul Adha.

Zakaat Committee members have been allocated to look after few branches, so they are in touch with the Branches in connection with the zakaat recipients. Human Care is aiming to look after 10% of the most needy zakaat recipient from Fiji.

Remember by now each of the branches from Fiji Muslim League and Macuata Muslim League are aware of the zakaat assistance in Fiji by Human Care Inc.

Branch means Branch of Fiji Muslim League or Branch of Macuata Muslim league.

Branch rep means the person responsible for zakaat at the branch.

  • Once the branch or the branch rep identifies a zakaat recipient informs the Human care rep.
  • Our Fiji rep is informed, and he makes a visit to the new zakaat recipient with a branch official.
  • HCI Fiji rep then informs Human Care Sydney Zakaat Committee. The Zakaat Committee then decides whether the recipient should be taken with all the information provided by the branch, branch rep and the HCI rep from Fiji.
  • If the Zakaat recipient is will be asked to fill in the Zakaat application form.
  • Once the application is finalised then they became part of the Zakaat recipients from Human Care.
  • The Zakaat recipients are reviewed every 6 months or year depending on the natural factors.

Our Zakat project is one of the most important projects as it aims to support to lowest 10% of the Zakat recipients in Fiji nationally. The scheme is operated with the aid of the local muslim branches who identify destitute families. Human care conducts its own survey which includes a means (income) testing and regular house visits.
The destitute families are sponsored by Human Care once the criteria are met. We provide the selected families with $F100.00 per month to assist them with their financial needs.
Please contact us if you want to sponsor a family.

Alhamdulillah, with your support and generous contributions, we were again able to sponsor 28 new students for Tertiary education bringing the total number of students to 64 in 2016. In 2017, Human Care Incorporated sponsored 78 students studying at universities across Fiji with 10 of students graduating. In 2018 this number has increased to 81 students with 15 expected to graduate this year.

“And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe”  Chapter (21) sūrat l-anbiyāa (The Prophets)

Water is one of the essentials of life. Yet 800 million people around the world do not have access to clean water and the crisis continues. Providing everyone with access to clean water is one of the greatest challenges of modern times.
According to statistics, one child dies from a water related disease every 20 seconds.

Millions of women and children spend 6-8 hours a day collecting water from distant, often polluted sources. 88% of cases of diarrhoea worldwide are attributed to unsafe water, inadequate sanitation or insufficient hygiene.
Installation of water facilities is a form of continuous Sadaqah Jariyah as reported by SunanAbiDawud;

Sa’adibnUbadah (RA) asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ‘Umm Sa’ad (his mother) has died; what form of Sadaqah is best?’ The Prophet replied: ‘Water’. Sa’ad dug a well and said, ‘It is for Umm Sa’ad’.

Water hand pumps
Many families in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and India spend up to five hours every day in search of water which is often dirty and contaminated with diseases. Accompanied on this audacious journey are their daughters who miss out on their education as a result. With the provision of water hand pumps, we help reduce their journey time from hours to minutes, children can invest their time seeking knowledge and women are able to capitalise their extra time and energy on activities that boost their family’s income rather than just ensuring family survival.
Donate $350 towards a water hand pump and help make a difference.

We are proud to announce that we slaughtered 50 cows in Fiji in our 2015 Qurban project and the meat was distributed to poor and needy families all over Fiji. The total cost of the project was F$67950.00 and the funds were provided by MAA and Human Care Inc provided the logis cs and the distribu on and the monitoring of the project. In Shaa Allah we plan to do Qurbaan again this year. Please contact one of our o cials if you are willing to contribute or buy Qurbaan shares. This year the cost of a share is $125

Past Projects

Human Care is a charitable organisation that assists students from poor and needy families in Fiji to reach their full academic potential

Human Care Incorporated was one of the first Organisations to provide assistance after cyclone Winston in 2016. With $30,000 raised within a week and supplies distributed within a week of the incident.

As you all know that Fiji suffered a major natural disaster in the form of Tropical Cyclone Winston on 20th February 2016. Tropical Cyclone Winston was the strong-est tropical cyclone to make landfall in Fiji and the South Pacific Basin in recorded history.
